MRA Educational Foundation
The MRA Educational Foundation (MRAEF) was created to address the diverse educational needs of the industry. Its focus is two fold: First, to provide professional development programs for members. Second, to develop a well-educated, well-trained workforce through School-to-Career partnerships throughout the state. The MRAEF is governed by a board of elected directors. Professional development for MRA Members
This segment of the Educational Foundation is guided by the MRAEF Education Committee. The group identifies seminar topics to address the needs of restaurant owners, managers, supervisors, and staff at all levels. Programs are held throughout the state and include topics such as ServSafe Alcohol® and Sanitation certification, Cost-Reduction, Marketing, and more. Have an idea for a seminar? MRA member restaurants have the capability to enroll select hourly employees in a 36 week part-time management training program, that will school their staff with essential toos to become part of restaurant upper management teams. Thanks to a Workforce Training grant through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Labor and Workforce Development, the program is at little cost to the employer and provides online and classroom management training.
