AUGUST2009
Massachusetts Restaurant Association - Between Bites
  Dear Members

The summer months are planning months for our Association. We are in the process of organizing our committees for the upcoming year. It's still not too late to volunteer to serve on a committee. All you have to do is call the office or log onto our website (www.marestaurantassoc.org), and we will make sure that you get assigned to one. Available committees include Associate Members, Trade Show, Membership, Public Relations, Education, Caterers, and Human Resource.

I encourage you to get involved or to involve some of your key employees with the MRA's committees. Volunteering is beneficial on many different levels. Not only are you helping the MRA and our industry when you get involved, but you are also forming new relationships that can prove to be very rewarding to your future. Committee involvement also builds leadership skills and allows participants to see first-hand their impact on the Association and the industry. For many, it is a way of giving back.

Any time is the right time to evaluate menu item performance, and given the state of the economy, now might be particularly apropos. It's common for restaurants to continually add new menu items to follow current food trends, add depth in particular areas, or just freshen up the offerings. Read more
